Weeeeeeeekend

This weekend was pretty fun. It basically began Wednesday night (I know) for Delia's 25th Birthday which we had at the Cha. Drinks and old friends I hadn't seen in awhile. Fast forward to Friday, went to an art gallery opening in the World of Wonder art space in support of an artist named Sham and his pop culture portraits of such non-icons like Angelyne and Janice Dickinson and my least favorite My Space celebrity, Jeffree Star. Then headed to Akbar which was allright, but crowded beyond capacity, way beyond. Saturday, headed to a dinner/summer cocktail party in the heart of West Hollywood which was actually pretty fun. It was catered and I ate 10,000 Carnitas and probably about a billion crackers with brie cheese. Here are some pics from the loooong weekend.

The ShinS

So all of a sudden I'm crazy about The Shins newest record "Wincing the Night Away". This came out in January and it got lost in the shuffle of the new Arcade Fire, Modest Mouse, !!!, etc...Anyhow, it's a great summer record and perfect to listen to while at the beach or poolside. It's not as cheery and airy as other Shin's records, but that's a good thing because it makes me forget all about "Garden State". My favorite tracks are "Split Needles" and "Sea Legs" which makes me feel like I'm underwater. Plus their lyrics are f-ing amazing!
