Yesterday Chris and I went and saw Julie Taymor's musical movie "Across the Universe". I had mixed expectations...had heard from a few people that it was bad and for the most part, the reviews have been harsh. However, reviewers also slammed Taymor's other two movies "Frida" and "Titus", both which I love, so I still wanted to go see for myself.
Glad I did, because this movie was fantastic; visually hypnotizing (as usual with Taymor) and mesmerizing to watch, great music, and excellent acting especially by Jim Sturgess, the lead.
If you're a fan of Taymor's earlier films or "Moulin Rouge", definately go check it out.
