My Uncle, John Kelley, died at age 54 on Friday. He had an extremely rare brain disease that had no cure. My brother and I had planned to visit him last week, but it was impossible because he had been hospitalized. It's unfortunate that I didn't get to say goodbye, but fortunate that I can retain only the best memories of him. He was incredibly caring, always genuinely interested in what I had to say and what was going on with me. He never judged, had a great sense of humor, and I don't think I ever heard him once raise his voice. He was a beautiful man, inside and out, and hopefully he is in a better place.
