So for the last two days I was required to humiliate myself several times for a Playstation commercial call and callback. Basically, the spot is a group of friends in a living room playing a karaoke videogame and having a grand ol' time. Sounds cute, fun, easy right? NOOOOO. The song they chose for EVERYONE to do, including MEN was "S.O.S" by Rihanna. Ok so still I stayed...thinking well obviously they want a fun version of it, not serious. WRONG. I get in the room and the one direction they gave us was to take the song as seriously as possible. I wanted to DIE. The song was bad enough, but I am terrified of karaoke. Unlike some people I know (namely my friend Kristin who does a mean Celine Dion), I can never find that balance bewteen mockery and seriousness. I always end up too serious or too awkward. So fucking hell, I went for it anyway and lo and behold, I got a callback. So yesterday was the callback and I walk in the room and there are probably 15 people sitting there as opposed to one cameraman. This usually doesn't faze me, but singing a Rihanna song in front of all these people (hot, young hipster boys too!) was a little horrifying to say the least. If I could get a hold of that performance videotape I think I would burn it, crush it, and then bury it.
Can't you see the resemblence?
